Director of the Horticulture Technology Program at Ningbo City Vocational and Technical College, he has been engaged in plant tissue culture for nearly 20 years. A graduate of Nanjing Forestry University with a degree in Forest Protection, he has been engaged in research on tissue culture and rapid propagation of disease-resistant slash pine and loblolly pine, as well as in teaching and research on plant tissue culture techniques. He has developed tissue culture techniques for a variety of plants, including camphor, red-leaved photinia, ashitaba, agapanthus, and aster, and has been granted two patents for plant tissue culture inventions.
Researcher at Qingdao Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Director of Qingdao Experimental Station of National Apple Industry System, has been engaged in apple rootstock breeding research for a long time. The apomictic apple rootstocks selected and bred, such as "Qingzhen No. 1", "Qingzhen No. 2", and "Qingzhen No. 8", are propagated by seeds and are uniform; they have well-developed root systems, are cold-resistant, salt-tolerant, have a wide adaptability, and can be cultivated without supports; they bear fruit early and produce high yields. In 2012, he won the second prize of Shandong Science and Technology Progress Award, and in 2014 and 2017, he obtained the national new plant variety protection right. In 2018, he passed the new crop variety registration of the Ministry of Agriculture. He was awarded the title of "Personnel Enjoying Special Government Allowances Issued by the State Council" (2014), and has achieved 5 scientific research results that are at the international leading or advanced level. He has invented 5 new plant variety protection rights with independent intellectual property rights and 8 new crop variety approval and registration items. He has published 6 related monographs and more than 90 papers, with an SCI impact factor of 9.863
He holds a Master's degree in Agricultural Extension from Beijing Forestry University. He is the Director of the Specialty Seedling Breeding Center of the Ningbo Forestry Bureau, Secretary of the Joint Party Branch of Public Institutions, and a candidate for the second-tier of Ningbo's Leading Talent Cultivation Program. He has long been engaged in the introduction, breeding, and promotion of garden plants and precious colorful tree species. Recently, he has led projects such as "Research on the Breeding and Industrialization of New Precious Ornamental Cultivar Varieties of Camphor Phoebe," a major agricultural project in Ningbo. He has published over 20 papers in core journals, including one SCI-indexed paper. He has received numerous awards for the Promotion of Agricultural Science and Technology Achievements in Zhejiang Province, as well as the title of Outstanding Science and Technology Worker in Zhejiang Province. He has overseen the breeding of over 10 new plant varieties, including camphor, sweetgum, and Zhejiang Phoebe. Six of these varieties have been authorized as new varieties by the State Forestry Administration, four have been approved as fine varieties by Zhejiang Province, and he has been granted two invention patents and two utility model patents.
